Last March we did the Swedish Melodifestival in our home, and now we got invited to a “European song contest” party. There were also a few Germans gathered – and it was very embarrassing for them watching the awkward German contribution of some immature school girls who probably got excluded from any school choir in the land of Bach and the Scorpions. We even got some text messages as they were singing, remarking “they are horribly out of tune!”. Anyway. The French were ashamed too for their song. And the Swedes got a lot of teasing remarks because of Perellis weird Make up and her dress, which was one inch too long – otherwise she would have got as many points as the Ucraine. It was funny. And believe it or not, even at a party like this there were some deep conversations about the meaning of following Christ. I combine: Pastors, do more song contests with embarrassing contributions!
